about Houndstooth
Houndstooth is a textile pattern distinguished by its "broken" check shapes that resemble a stylized tooth. Houndstooth is traditionally woven in a 2:2 twill pattern, hence the name of this fanlisting, TWO ON TWO. The conventional colors of the pattern are black and white, though today's styles include many other fashion-forward duotones.
Similar patterns include the Glen Plaid and the Prince of Wales Check, which involve slight pattern and color variants. Pee-Wee Herman and James Bond are known for their dashing houndstooth suits, and former University of Alabama coach Paul Bryant made Houndstooth an Alabama specialty with his trademark Houndstooth hat. Houndstooth is also referred to as guncheck or dog-tooth, but is primarily known by its original name.
