MY NAME IS STEPHANIE
I'm eighteen (nineteen on September 13th, buy me a present?), and I'm a psychology major at Clemson University in South Carolina. However, I live somewhere in Western North Carolina (check out the under 10,000 population, I'm in one of those "cities") in my off time. I've lived in about a billion different places though, and have traveled a good chunk of the US. Chicago is probably my favorite place on earth. But if you don't believe me, you can check out my 43 Places.
I'm an artist, but I don't think I'll be taking anymore art classes... I kind of think structured classes for art defeats the purpose of self-expression. If someone is telling you how you should be expressing yourself... well, you get the idea. I'm also a writer. You see, I have this mad fear of dying and being forgotten, so I plan on writing one hell of a book so I'll be remembered forever. Miss Austen definitely knew what she was doing.
Outside of the art world, I do have various interests that seem to contradict each other in a very compelling way, or so I'm told. I'm a sports fanatic (baseball, football), enjoy playing soccer and running, I'm a fashionista, web standards geek and literature connoisseur. I like to take part in the local music scene (my brother and some of my best friends are in bands), so you can find me at shows across the upstate area. I'm also a really, really good cook. Want an idea for dinner? Shoot me an email. Seriously.
As far as schooling goes, I changed my major three times before settling on Psychology. I went through Computer Science, Communications and Graphic Communications over the course of my freshman year. However, my introduction course to psychology during the second semester reminded me how much I enjoy the field. I'm a sophomore currently, and my focus is human resources management, which will put me on the road to my desired field, I/O Psychology. Extracurricularly, I design and edit ads for the campus paper to earn a bit of pocket change. I'm also a member of the Alpha Omega Epsilon sorority, which is an engineering and science professional sorority. I joined back when I was in computer science, and even though I'm not in a major that the sorority caters to, I plan on staying and remaining active.
I don't like cake, pizza, bananas, carrots, oatmeal or boardgames. I am indifferent to movies. My boyfriend thinks I am crazy for all of these things. I am in love with T.S. Eliot and Ernest Hemingway, along with the colors of the rainbow. House, M.D. is pretty much the only show I will go out of my way to watch on TV (if I'm indifferent to movies, I couldn't care less about TV), and he could examine me any day.
The simplest things in life make me smile. I miss my hometown of Baltimore. I want to have a bazillion cats, a bull mastiff, several guinea pigs and a few horses when I grow up, but I also want to live within ten minutes of a city.
Can you tell that I'm a wishful thinker? I'm also a dreamer and a hoper and I have absolute faith in karma. I have no idea what I want to be when I grow up, but I plan on figuring it out at some point. The preferred word to describe me is facetious and my favorite nickname ever given to me was fun-sized lady friend.
Now enough about me. Why don't you go look at something interesting?
